A good way to keep your fans updated is blogging. Its also a way to vent or talk just about anything you deam important for your fans. They can reply to your posts and interact with you which is a good thing! Of course, you would have to promote your blog too if you want people to know about it!
Every writer uses their blogs in different ways.
Some use their blog to showcase other writer's work in form of reviews.
Some use their blog to teach other writers a thing or two about writing in general.
Some talk about their own books, giving insightful information and inticing the readers to purchase a copy.
Some writers use a combination, changing the topic with each post. That is what I do.
Should you blog? That's really up to you. Some say no while others say yes.
I say, do what you feel you must. It is a good way to practice your writing. If you want to test an idea, its a way to get it out there.
If you want to vent because you had a bad day, you can scream without hurting people's ears. If you enjoy reading and love to give reviews,
it is a great way to showcase your thoughts about those books.
And if you get lucky enough, another writer may pick up on your blog and display a link in their e-book which is something that happened to me!
